What year is the Steel Brigade? It should say near the trademark stamp on his leg. Go to eBay and look for the crotch that you need. You'll also need an o-ring for this. There are many tutorials on how to fix broken Joes on Youtube. It's not difficult. Just be careful not to strip the screw in the back piece. I get my o-rings from SmallJoes. http://smalljoes.com/cat/G.I.-GI-JOE-repair-replacement-parts-57.shtml Anyway, if the crotch is not on eBay don't despair. Just check once per week until you do have a chance to get one. They do eventually come up.

I am in the same boat right now. I'm looking for the right rear leg piece for a Blue Snake. Good luck!

Hmm. No I did NOT have any of those issues that you’re experiencing. That sucks! If it’s that bad you could get a junker off eBay just for the legs, or if you’re really daring you could take him apart, sand down the legs, re-shoot the legs white, and get an aftermarket sticker set. I would go with option 1 if you want it cheap and easy and option 2 if you want a challenge.

When you did the hydrogen peroxide bath, did you have any issues with Jetfire's legs. The diecast portion on mind had the paint start bubbling and peeling off. Any thoughts?

It's been a while and I'm trying to recall. I know that the placement of the chest/arms is critical to Jetfire standing properly (it has to be exact or his wings in the back will slouch and look off) in robot mode. I took a quick look for you actually because I have a lot of spare parts but I don't have the piece that I suspect is causing the problem. As you rotate the arm it should click and one thing you'll notice is that when turning the arm it also effects his posture. When the arm is in the wrong position Jetfire's wings will come up too high and change the position of his legs and head. You'll notice that the shoulder piece is 3 parts. You can unscrew the shoulder into two halves and the piece remaining is the part attached to his wings. This is the part I think is causing the issue but it's hard to say without actually looking at it myself. I DO have spare parts for the two right shoulder halves. If the problem is with the connecting piece you may need to get a junker off eBay and do a complete tear on yours since it's probably easier to replace the wings than fiddle with just that shoulder part. The tear down takes about 2 mins but getting it all to go back together properly is tedious. Out of all the repairs I've ever done on any Transformers or GI Joe toys etc this one is #2 on the list of pain in the ass factor. #1 is replacing the front turret gun on a Cobra Rattler. Number 3 is replacing the rotors on a GI Joe Tomahawk. One other thing worth mentioning. It's possible maybe that someone has had your Jetfire apart before and didn't correctly position everything right. It's hard for me to imagine a scenario where that joint would actually wear out although there is a gear / o-ring inside there. Please let me know how this works out and feel free to ping here if you need some advice or help with the tear down.

My son just bought a G1 Jetfire, but the right arm/shoulder joint has become very loose and the arm spins freely. I see that there is a screw for the shoulder and I have had a bit of success putting a small screwdriver in the area and tightening it somewhat. However, with repeated play, the joint loosens again. Any suggestions for a more permanent fix?

Thanks.
